Cranking Test: Notes
CAUTION:
Never operate starter for periods of more than 15 seconds. Excessive cranking can cause starter to overheat. Allow starter to cool for at least 20 seconds between operations.
NOTE:
Place gray inductive current pick-up around battery positive cable between battery positive terminal and starter motor solenoid connections. Battery positive cable is covered by a protective wire conduit. This conduit does not need to be removed before testing.
