Removal & Installation: Generator: Installation

    NOTE: The generator shield must be installed to prevent premature generator failures due to foreign debris intrusion.
  1. Position generator on the lower cylinder block bracket and install lower attachment bolt. Install upper attachment bolt and torque both bolts. Tighten generator bolts to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
    2. NOTE: Position generator on the lower cylinder block bracket and install lower attachment bolt. Install the upper attachment bolt and torque both bolts. Tighten generator bolts to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
    NOTE: The battery terminal fusible link wire (between starter and generator) should be orientated on the generator between 10-11 o'clock position.
  2. Install generator regulator connector and install the fusible link to the generator. When installing fusible link, use the Generator Output Stud Wrench (SA9401C) to prevent the output (B+) stud from rotating. Tighten generator positive terminal to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  3. Install accessory drive belt.
  4. Install wheel well splash shield.
  5. Install right wheel and tire assembly. Tighten wheel nuts to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  6. Connect battery negative cable. Tighten battery terminal bolts to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
