DTC Parameters
- EVAP vent solenoid is commanded on (closed).
- EVAP purge solenoid is commanded on (open).
- Engine run time less than 10 minutes.
- Fuel tank level 15-85 percent full.
- BARO greater than 81 kPa.
- Ignition voltage is 8-18 volts.
- ECT and IAT at start-up are 41-90°F (5-32°C).
- ECT and IAT within 50°F.
- No ECT, fuel tank pressure, IAT, MAP or VSS DTCs are set.
DTC sets when 8 in. H2O cannot be pulled on EVAP system for greater than 3.2 seconds out of a 240 second cold engine test, indicating a large EVAP leak
DTC diagnostic runs once per ignition cycle once the above conditions have been met. If this test fails, a warm test (maximum of 120 seconds) will be performed and can only PASS a diagnostic test, not fail it. The purpose of this test is to keep the MIL off during the initial test if the customer starts the vehicle with the fuel cap off.
