Fuel System Pressure Release

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Loosen the fuel filler cap to relieve the fuel tank vapor pressure.
  3. Remove the cap from the fuel pressure service port.
  4. Connect Gauge Bar Set (SA9127E) or Fuel Pressure Gauge (J 34730-1A), or equivalent, to the fuel pressure connection, located on the fuel rail. See Fig 1 or Fig 2 .
  5. Place the bleed hose of the gauge bar set or fuel pressure gauge into an approved fuel container.
  6. Open the valve to bleed the system pressure. The fuel connections are now safe for servicing.
  7. Disconnect the gauge bar set or fuel pressure gauge from the fuel pressure connection.
