Installation Procedure

  1. Tie the end of the string to the connector end of the knock sensor 2.
  2. Pull up on the string above the A/C compressor to guide the sensor connector around the A/C compressor bracket.

  4. Once the knock sensor connector is above the A/C compressor, install the knock sensor 2 attachment bolt with a knock sensor 2 wire facing between the 9 and 10 o'clock position.

    Tighten:  Tighten the knock sensor bolt to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

  5. Lower the vehicle.
  6. Attach the knock sensor wire to the attachment clip located about 6 inches below the attachment clip on the camshaft position sensor.
  7. Attach the knock sensor wire to the attachment clip located on the camshaft position sensor.
  8. Connect the knock sensor 2 harness connector. Push the connector in until the lock position is felt, then pull back to confirm engagement.
  9. Install the power steering pump pulley and snug down the attachment bolts.

  11. Install the accessory drive belt.
  12. Tighten the power steering pump pulley bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the power steering pulley bolt to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
