Power Mirror Control System: Inspection

  1. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Select L on the left/right adjustment switch:

      Measure the resistance of the switch.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION CONDITION SPECIFICATIONS

      Terminal Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      4 (VL) - 8 (B) UP Below 1 Ω
      6 (M+) - 7 (E)
      4 (VL) - 7 (E) DOWN Below 1 Ω
      6 (M+) - 8 (B)
      5 (HL) - 8 (B) LEFT Below 1 Ω
      6 (M+) - 7 (E)
      5 (HL) - 7 (E) RIGHT Below 1 Ω
      6 (M+) - 8 (B)

      If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assy.

    2. Select R on the left/right adjustment switch:

      Measure the resistance of the switch.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION CONDITION SPECIFICATIONS

      Terminal Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      3 (VR) - 8 (B) UP Below 1 Ω
      6 (M+) - 7 (E)
      3 (VR) - 7 (E) DOWN Below 1 Ω
      6 (M+) - 8 (B)
      2 (HR) - 8 (B) LEFT Below 1 Ω
      6 (M+) - 7 (E)
      2 (HR) - 7 (E) RIGHT Below 1 Ω
      6 (M+) - 8 (B)

      If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assy.

  2. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY LH 
    1. Disconnect the mirror connector.
    2. Apply battery voltage to the mirror and check operation of the mirror.

      Ok: 

      MEASUREMENT CONDITION SPECIFICATIONS

      Measurement Condition Mirror Condition
      Battery positive (+) -> 3 (MV) Turns upward (A)
      Battery negative (-) -> 4 (COM)
      Battery positive (+) -> 4 (COM) Turns downward (B)
      Battery negative (-) -> 3 (MV)
      Battery positive (+) -> 5 (MH) Turns left (C)
      Battery negative (-) -> 4 (COM)
      Battery positive (+) -> 4 (COM) Turns right (D)
      Battery negative (-) -> 5 (MH)

      If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assy.

  3. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY RH 
    1. Disconnect the mirror connector.
    2. Apply battery voltage to the mirror and check operation of the mirror.

      Ok: 

      MEASUREMENT CONDITION SPECIFICATIONS

      Measurement Condition Mirror Condition
      Battery positive (+) -> 3 (MV) Turns upward (A)
      Battery negative (-) -> 4 (COM)
      Battery positive (+) -> 4 (COM) Turns downward (B)
      Battery negative (-) -> 3 (MV)
      Battery positive (+) -> 5 (MH) Turns left (C)
      Battery negative -> 4 (COM)
      Battery positive (+) -> 4 (COM) Turns right (D)
      Battery negative (-) -> 5 (MH)

      If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assy.
