Throttle Body: Removal
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
- DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT
- REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY
- Disconnect the MAF meter connector.
- Disconnect the purge VSV connector.
- Detach the wire harness clamp.
- Disconnect the No. 2 purge line hose.
- Disconnect the ventilation hose.
- Disconnect the No. 1 purge line hose.
- Unlock the 2 clamp hooks.
- Loosen the hose clamp and remove the air cleaner case.
- Remove the air cleaner filter element.
- Remove the 4 bolts and air cleaner case.
- REMOVE ACCELERATOR CONTROL CABLE
- Loosen the nut and disconnect the accelerator control cable.
- REMOVE TRANSMISSION OIL FILLER TUBE SUBASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle)
- Disconnect the throttle position sensor connector.
- Disconnect the hose.
- Remove the bolt and oil cooler tube clamp.
- Remove the bolt and transmission oil filler tube.
- Remove the O-ring from the transmission oil filler tube.
- REMOVE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY
- Disconnect the IAC valve connector.
- Disconnect the throttle position sensor connector (for manual transaxle).
- Remove the wire harness clamp.
- Remove the bolt and 2 nuts, then remove the accelerator control cable bracket and throttle body.
- Remove the gasket from the intake manifold.
- Disconnect the No. 1 water by-pass hose.
- Disconnect the No. 2 water by-pass hose.
