Transmission Control Cable Assembly: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
  2. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING RADIATOR ASSEMBLY (See  DISASSEMBLY  ) 
  3. REMOVE EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the exhaust pipe (see REMOVAL ).
  4. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER LH 
  5. DISCONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the nut from the control shaft lever.
    2. Disconnect the cable from the control shaft lever.

    3. Remove the clip and disconnect the cable from the control cable bracket.

    4. Disconnect the cable from the control cable clamp.

  6. REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the No. 2 shift cable grommet retainer.

    2. Disconnect the floor shift cable from the transmission floor shift assembly.
    3. Pull out the cable from the body.
    4. Remove the No. 2 shift cable grommet retainer.
