Knock Sensor: Installation
- INSTALL KNOCK SENSOR
- Install the sensor with the nut.
Torque: 20 N*m (205 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf)
NOTE: Make sure that the knock sensor is in the correct direction. - Connect the sensor connector.
- Install the sensor with the nut.
- INSTALL INTAKE MANIFOLD INSULATOR
- Install the intake manifold insulator onto the cylinder block.
- INSTALL INTAKE MANIFOLD
- Install a new gasket into the intake manifold.
- Install the intake manifold with the 5 bolts and 2 nuts.
Torque: 30 N*m (305 kgf*cm, 22 ft.*lbf)
- Fit the union to check valve hose into the vacuum hose clamp.
- Install the wire harness clamp.
- Connect the camshaft timing oil control valve connector.
- Connect the union to check valve hose to the brake booster.NOTE: Make sure that the paint mark and hose clamp are at the correct angle.

- CONNECT HEATER WATER OUTLET HOSE
- Install the heater water outlet hose to the water bypass pipe and heater radiator unit.NOTE: Make sure that the paint mark and hose clamp are at the correct angle.
- Install the heater water outlet hose to the water bypass pipe and heater radiator unit.
- CONNECT HEATER WATER INLET HOSE
- Install the heater water inlet hose to the cylinder head and heater radiator unit.NOTE: Make sure that the paint mark and hose clamp are at the correct angle.
- Install the hose clamp.NOTE: Make sure that the paint mark and hose clamp are at the correct angle.
- Install the heater water inlet hose to the cylinder head and heater radiator unit.
- INSTALL FUEL TUBE
- Align the fuel tube connector with the pipe, and then push the fuel tube connector until the retainer makes a "click" sound to connect the fuel tube to the pipe.NOTE:
- Check that there are no scratches or foreign objects around the connected part of the fuel tube connector and pipe before performing this work.
- After connecting the fuel tube connector, check that the fuel tube connector and pipe are securely connected by pulling them.
- Align the fuel tube connector with the pipe, and then push the fuel tube connector until the retainer makes a "click" sound to connect the fuel tube to the pipe.
- INSTALL FUEL DELIVERY PIPE (See INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL THROTTLE BODY (See INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP (See INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL COWL BODY MOUNTING BRACKET LOWER LH
- Install the bracket with the bolt and clip.
Torque: 13 N*m (135 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf)
- Install the bracket with the bolt and clip.
- INSTALL COWL TOP PANEL OUTER
- Install the panel with the 7 bolts.
Torque: 13 N*m (135 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf)
- Install the wire harness clamp.
- Install the panel with the 7 bolts.
- INSTALL WIPER LINK (See INSTALLATION )
- CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
- ADD ENGINE COOLANT (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION )
- CHECK FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAKAGE (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION )
- CHECK FOR FUEL LEAKAGE (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION )
- INSTALL ENGINE COVER (See INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER LH (See INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL HOOD TO COWL TOP SEAL (See INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM RH (See INSTALLATION )
- INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM LH (See INSTALLATION )
- REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM HEAD CAP
- PERFORM INITIALIZATION
- Perform initialization (see INITIALIZATION
).NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
