Steering Column Assembly: Installation

INSTALL STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY
1. Install the steering column with the 3 bolts.
  Torque: 25 N*m (255 kgf*cm, 18 ft.*lbf)
2. Connect each connector and clamp the wire harness to the steering column bracket.

CONNECT NO. 2 STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY
1. Align the matchmarks on the No. 2 intermediate shaft and the intermediate shaft and install them with bolt.
  Torque: 35 N*m (360 kgf*cm, 26 ft.*lbf)
PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
INSTALL SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY (See INSTALLATION )
INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY (SeeINSPECTION )

INSTALL COLUMN HOLE COVER SILENCER SHEET
1. Install the column hole cover silencer sheet with the 2 clips. Then return the carpet to its original position.

INSTALL DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (See INSTALLATION )
INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (See INSTALLATION )
INSTALL HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (See INSTALLATION )
INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER
INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY
1. Align the matchmarks on the steering wheel and steering main shaft.
2. Install the steering wheel with the set nut.
  Torque: 50 N*m (510 kgf*cm, 37 ft.*lbf)
INSPECT STEERING WHEEL CENTER POINT
INSTALL STEERING PAD ASSEMBLY (See INSTALLATION )
CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
HINT:

When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (See INITIALIZATION ).
INSPECT STEERING PAD ASSEMBLY
1. Inspect steering pad (see ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION ).
INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
1. Inspect SRS warning light (see DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM ).
