Rear Speed Sensor: Installation: Installation

HINT: 

• Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
• The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

1. INSTALL REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY LH 

   Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 1

   HINT: 

   • The rear speed sensor is a component of the rear axle hub and bearing assembly. If the sensor malfunctions, replace the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.
   • If the sensor rotor needs to be replaced, replace it together with the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.
2. INSTALL SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE LH 
   1. Connect the skid control sensor wire connector to the skid control sensor.
      NOTE:

      To prevent interference with other parts, do not twist the painted line areas of the sensor wire when installing it.

   2. Attach the sensor clamp.
      NOTE:

      Do not twist the sensor wire when installing the clamp.

   3. Install the sensor clamp to the trailing arm bracket with the bolt.

      Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Do not twist the sensor wire when installing the clamp.

   4. Install the sensor clamp to the wheel house gusset with the bolt.

      Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Do not twist the sensor wire when installing the clamp.

   5. Insert the connector and grommet into the inside of the vehicle through the hole in the wheel house.

      NOTE:

      Make sure the band clamp remains on the outside of the vehicle.

   6. Hold the grommet and pull it toward the outside of the vehicle. Then fix the grommet in place so that it is not tilted.

      NOTE:

      • When pulling out the grommet, do not grip the sensor wire.
      • Fix the grommet in place within the range shown in the illustration.
   7. Connect the skid control sensor wire connector to the vehicle side connector on the rear floor.
3. INSTALL DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY LH 

   Refer to INSTALLATION

4. INSTALL REAR DISC  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 1
5. CONNECT REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 2
6. INSTALL REAR WHEEL  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 9
7. CHECK SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL 

   Refer to TEST MODE PROCEDURE
