DTC P0607: Control Module Performance: Procedure

  1. CHECK ANY OTHER DTCS OUTPUT
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ETC / Trouble Codes.
    5. Read DTCs.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      P0607 and P0136, P0137 or P0138 A
      P0607 B

    B → See step   3

    A: Go to next step

  2. INSPECT DTC (P0136, P0137 OR P0138)
    1. Inspect the P0136, P0137 or P0138 flowchart.

      HINT:

If P0607 and P0136, P0137 or P0138 are output, the output voltage of the heated oxygen sensor may remain close to 0 V or become high (around 1 V or more).

    NEXT → See step   6

  3. CHECK FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAK
    1. Allow the engine to idle and rev the engine.
    2. Check for exhaust gas leak around the heated oxygen sensor.

If any exhaust gas leaks are present, repair it and proceed to step "Perform Confirmation Driving Pattern". If no exhaust gas leaks are present, proceed to "Perform Confirmation Driving Pattern".

      HINT:

      • If no exhaust gas leaks are present, a malfunction in the heated oxygen sensor circuit is suspected.
      • If any exhaust gas leaks are present around the heated oxygen sensor, noise appears in the output voltage of the heated oxygen sensor.

    NEXT: Go to next step

    1. Clear DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Warm up the engine until the engine coolant temperature becomes 75 °C (167 °F) or more.
    4. Perform the driving pattern.
      1. Accelerate the vehicle until 80 km/h (50 mph) and stop the vehicle.
      2. Drive the vehicle by 56 to 80 km/h (35 to 50 mph) for 5 minutes or more.
      WARNING:

When performing the confirmation driving pattern, obey all speed limits and traffic laws.

    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ETC / Trouble Codes.
    6. Read DTCs.

      No output C

    B → See step   7

    C → See step   6

    A: Go to next step

  5. INSPECT DTC (P0136, P0137 OR P0138)
    1. Inspect the P0136, P0137 or P0138 flow chart.

      HINT:

      • If P0136 is output, troubleshoot for that DTC first. Refer to CONFIRMATION DRIVING PATTERN . Then proceed to "Inspect ECM".
      • If P0137 is output, troubleshoot for that DTC first. Refer to CONFIRMATION DRIVING PATTERN . Then proceed to "Inspect ECM".
      • If P0138 is output, troubleshoot for that DTC first. Refer to CONFIRMATION DRIVING PATTERN . Then proceed to "Inspect ECM".
      • If P0607 and P0136, P0137 or P0138 are output, the output voltage of the heated oxygen sensor may remain close to 0 V or become high (around 1 V or more).

    NEXT: Go to next step

  6. INSPECT ECM
    1. Clear DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    2. Stop the engine and wait for 30 minutes.
    3. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    4. Start the engine and allow it to idle for 2 minutes.
    5. Turn the Techstream on.
    6. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ETC / Trouble Codes.
