SFI System: Precaution: Precaution
- INITIALIZATION NOTE:
- Perform initialization (throttle position) after replacing the throttle body assembly or cleaning any throttle body components. Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 6 .
- Perform initialization (throttle position) after reconnecting the battery cable or replacing the ECM. Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 6 .
- Perform the RESET MEMORY (AT initialization) when replacing the automatic transaxle assembly, engine assembly or ECM. Refer to INITIALIZATION .
- Perform the Registration (VIN registration) when replacing the ECM. Refer to REGISTRATION .
- If the ECM is replaced, register the ECU communication ID for Immobiliser System. Refer to REGISTRATION .
HINT:
Initialization cannot be completed by only disconnecting and reconnecting the cable of the negative (-) battery terminal.
- WHEN USING TECHSTREAM WARNING:
Observe the following items for safety reasons:
- Read its instruction books before using the Techstream.
- Prevent the Techstream cable from being caught on the pedals, shift lever and steering wheel when driving with the Techstream connected to the vehicle.
- When driving the vehicle for testing purposes using the Techstream, two persons are required. One person drives the vehicle, and the other operates the Techstream.
- DISCONNECT AND RECONNECT CABLE OF NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
- Before performing electronic work, disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal in order to prevent it from shorting and burning out.
- Before disconnecting and reconnecting the battery cable, turn the ignition switch to off and the headlight dimmer switch off. Then loosen the terminal nut completely. Do not damage the cable or terminal.
- When the battery cable is disconnected, the clock and radio settings and stored DTCs are erased. Therefore, before disconnecting the battery cable, make a note of the settings.
