Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor: Removal: Removal

  1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT  . Refer to REPLACEMENT - Step 1 .
  2. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY

    1. Disconnect the mass air flow meter connector.
    2. Separate the wire harness.
    3. Separate the No. 1 vacuum switching valve.

    4. Disconnect the ventilation hose.

    5. Separate the No. 2 fuel vapor feed hose.
    6. Loosen the No. 1 air cleaner hose clamp, unlock the air cleaner assembly clamp and remove the air cleaner cap sub-assembly with No. 1 air cleaner hose.

    7. Remove the air cleaner filter element sub-assembly.
    8. Separate the wire harness.

    9. Remove the 3 bolts and remove the air cleaner case sub-assembly.
  3. REMOVE ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR

    1. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector.
    2. Using SST, remove the engine coolant temperature sensor and gasket.
