Repair Instruction: Initialization: Initialization

  1. PROCEDURES NECESSARY WHEN ECU OR OTHER PARTS ARE REPLACED 
    Replacement Part Necessary Procedure Effect / Inoperative Function when Necessary Procedures are not Performed See
    ECM Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) registration MIL comes on Refer to REGISTRATION
    ECU communication ID registration (Engine immobiliser system) Engine starting Refer to REGISTRATION
    • ECM or Throttle body assembly
    • Throttle body is cleaned
    Initialization - Refer to PRECAUTION
    Automatic transaxle assembly, engine assembly or ECM
    • Road test
    • Reset memory
    Large shift shock Refer to INITIALIZATION
    Tire pressure monitor receiver assembly Register transmitter IDs
    • When DTC detection conditions of "transmitter ID not received" DTC is met, tire pressure warning light blinks for 1 minute, and then illuminates
    • Tire pressure monitoring function
    Tire pressure warning valve and transmitter Refer to REGISTRATION
    Yaw rate and acceleration sensor
    • Clearing zero point calibration data
    • Yaw rate and acceleration sensor zero point calibration
    VSC control is prohibited or operation is incorrect Refer to CALIBRATION
    Skid control ECU Yaw rate and acceleration sensor zero point calibration VSC control is prohibited or operation is incorrect Refer to CALIBRATION
    Front wheel alignment adjustment
    • Clearing zero point calibration data
    • Yaw rate and acceleration sensor zero point calibration
    VSC control is prohibited or operation is incorrect Refer to CALIBRATION
    • Power steering ECU
    • Steering column assembly
    • Steering wheel
    • Steering gear assembly
    Perform rotation angle sensor initialization and torque sensor zero point calibration
    • EPS warning light comes on
    • EPS control
    Refer to CALIBRATION
    • Transponder key ECU
    • Key
    • ECM
    • Key code registration
    • ECU communication ID registration (Engine immobiliser system)
    Engine start Refer to REGISTRATION
    • Door control receiver
    • Key
    Code registration Wireless door lock system Refer to REGISTRATION
    • Occupant classification ECU
    • Accessories (seatback tray and seat cover, etc.) are installed
    • Front passenger seat is removed from the vehicle
    • Vehicle is brought to the workshop for repair due to an accident or a collision
    • Perform zero point calibration
    • Sensitivity check
    • Occupant classification system
    • Airbag system (Front passenger side)
    • Seat belt warning system (Front passenger side)
    Refer to INITIALIZATION
