Safety Precautions

WARNING: Risk of death when touching components on vehicles with high-voltage system. In the entire high-voltage system, there are voltages of < 400 volts. Burns, fibrillation of the heart or cardiac arrest due to electric shock may occur upon touching components of the high-voltage system. Persons with electronic implants (e.g. cardiac pacemakers) must never work on high-voltage systems. Improper handling and non-observance of the warning notices may lead to property damage, bodily injury, electric shock or, in extreme cases, cardiac arrest. Assembly/disassembly work on the high-voltage system may only be performed after the vehicle's high-voltage system has been disconnected.
WARNING: After an electric shock incident, a physician must be consulted in order to check bodily functions, as after-effects may still appear after several days.

The 3 safety rules must be observed and adhered to when conducting high-voltage work:

CAUTION: If the chafe protection on the high-voltage lines is damaged or the electrical lines themselves are damaged due to external influences (e.g. bitten by animals), the lines must be replaced immediately. Repair of the high-voltage lines is not permissible.
CAUTION: Check the high-voltage system for external damage and defects. If damage or defects are found on the high-voltage components or along the high-voltage lines, these components and/or lines must be replaced. Repair of the high-voltage components or the high-voltage lines is not permissible.
