Trouble Shooting

CONDITION POSSIBLE CAUSE CORRECTION
Hard Steering  Tire pressure too low Check tire pressure
  Front wheels out of alignment See Adjustments in WHEEL ALIGNMENT
  Lower control arm ball joint seized See Ball Joint Checking in SUSPENSION
Vehicle Pulls to One Side  Crossmember broken, cracked or loose Tighten or replace as necessary
  Left and right side wheel base uneven Check for sagging springs or broken shock
  Loose or worn wheel bearings See Wheel Bearings in SUSPENSION
  Loose wheel lug nuts Tighten to specifications
Steering Wheel Wander  Ball joint worn See Ball Joint Checking in SUSPENSION
  Lower control arm and strut worn See SUSPENSION
  Pivot bolt (shaft) loose or worn Tighten or replace as necessary
Body Roll  Stabilizer broken or damaged See SUSPENSION
  Shock absorbers worn Replace shock absorbers
Noise  Coil spring broken See SUSPENSION
  Bad shock absorber Replace shock absorber
  Insufficient lubrication Service vehicle suspension
  Components loose or worn Tighten or replace as necessary
  Damaged wheel bearing See SUSPENSION
  Improper tire pressure Inflate to proper pressure
Steering Hard to Control  Broken front coil spring See SUSPENSION
  Defective shock absorber Replace shock as necessary
  Loose control arm bushings See SUSPENSION
  Strut assembly loose See SUSPENSION
  Improper tire pressure Inflate to proper pressure
  Front end out of alignment See WHEEL ALIGNMENT
  Damaged suspension links See SUSPENSION
