Oxygen Sensor: Description and Operation

The oxygen sensor generates electromotive force according to the ratio of oxygen in ambient air to exhaust gases. The electromotive force changes in relation to air-fuel ratio.

The oxygen sensor is installed on the exhaust manifold and is connected to a tube with a shield cap.
