Nippondenso ASV-I

  1. Remove air suction/cut-off valve from engine. Remove 3 screws and separate cut-off valve assembly, valve seat and reed valve cover. Remove reed valve assembly and gasket from inside reed valve cover. Remove "O" ring from cut-off valve assembly and discard.
    NOTE: The Nippondenso ASV-1 may not use an "O" ring or valve seat in some models.
  2. Apply vacuum to cut-off valve diaphragm to determine if valve is functioning normally. Check reed valve assembly gasket for cracks or other damage.
  3. After washing in gasoline, check reed valve assembly for cracks, waves or dents in reed valve seat, cracked or broken point of reed valve and/or rusty stopper. Replace components as necessary.
  4. Using new "O" ring and gasket, complete reassemble by reversing disassembly procedure. Reinstall air suction valve assembly. See Figure .
