Fuel Evaporation System: Description

The fuel evaporation system prevents fuel vapors from reaching the atmosphere. Major components of the system include a sealed fuel tank, vacuum relief filler cap, vapor separator, 2-way valve, carbon canister, purge control valve, solenoid valve (carburetor models only), thermo vacuum valve, and connecting lines and hoses.

Federal 4WD models use a different type of thermo vacuum valve and also use an additional air control vacuum valve.
