Ignition Timing Control

The turbocharger increases the pressure under a load. This may result in knocking. The knock control system detects knocking and retards the ignition timing. A retard type distributor is used. It retards the timing under excessive supercharging pressures. This system maintains ignition timing at an optimum level to enhance power and fuel efficiency.
