Throttle Body

Throttle bodies are equipped with an idle speed adjusting screw and a fast idle speed adjusting screw. During air conditioner operation, a fast idle compensating solenoid (F.I.C.D) opens up to by-pass additional air to the intake manifold to maintain engine idle speed. Throttle bodies are also equipped with dashpots to prevent engine stall during deceleration.
