Fuel Injected Models

  1. Remove the thermo vacuum valve from intake manifold. Connect hoses to the output ports for air intake boot and canister purge valve (2 upper ports) and plug output port for distributor (1 lower port). Submerge valve in container of water and heat to proper temperature as needed.
CAUTION: Do not allow water to enter thermo vacuum valve.
  2. With water temperature below 113° F (45° C), blow air through valve. If air does not pass freely, replace valve. Heat water above 131° F (55° C). No air should pass. If air passes through valve, replace valve.
  3. Detach and reconnect hoses to output ports for distributor and canister purge valve. Plug output port to the air intake boot. With water temperature at 68° F (20° C), blow air into unit to ensure valve is completely open. With water temperature at 50° F (10° C), ensure valve is completely closed.
