Models With Turbo

Fuel travels from fuel tank to canister in the same manner as models without turbo. The difference is in the way canister is purged.

Turbo models use a first purge line from canister purge control valve to intake manifold, and a second purge line from top of canister to air intake above throttle valve.

When engine is running, throttle body vacuum opens purge control valve and allows stored vapors to flow out of canister through first purge line into intake manifold. Canister purging stops when engine is running at turbo boost or when engine is stopped.

Intake air draws canister vapors through secondary purge line whenever engine is running.
