Ignition System - HITACHI: Overhaul: Disassembly
- Remove distributor cap and rotor. Remove vacuum diaphragm screws, and pull vacuum diaphragm out of distributor housing. Note and record position of wires, then disconnect wires from pick-up coil. Remove harness.
- Using 2 screwdrivers, pry reluctor off rotor shaft. Remove screws and take out breaker plate assembly. Remove pick-up coil, spacers, stator, and magnet from breaker plate assembly. Drive out roll pin from pinion gear.
- Remove thrust washer(s) and gear. Carefully remove distributor shaft assembly. Detach springs from rotor shaft. Remove packing and screw, then pull out rotor shaft. Remove weights.
