Ignition System - HITACHI: Overhaul: Reassembly

1. To assemble, reverse disassembly procedure. Lubricate shaft bearing and breaker pate sliding surfaces with grease. Position rotor shaft flat spot and roll pin hole as shown. See Fig 1.
2. Install pinion gear and distributor shaft with alignment marks toward notch in distributor housing. See Fig 2. Align notch in breaker plate assembly as shown. See Fig 3.

3. Install roll pin with its cut-out parallel to flat spot on reluctor. See Fig 2. After assembly measure air gap between stator and reluctor. See ADJUSTMENTS  in this article.
