Fuel Evaporation System: Description
The fuel evaporation system prevents fuel vapor from reaching the atmosphere. Major components of the system include a sealed fuel tank with integral expansion chamber, vacuum relief filler cap, vapor separator, 2-way valve, charcoal canister, purge control valve, bowl vent solenoid valve (carbureted engine), purge control solenoid valve (throttle body injected engine), thermo vacuum valve (carbureted and multi-point fuel injected engines), control unit (throttle body injected engine), check valve (turbo engine), and connecting lines and hoses.
