Throttle Body

Subaru throttle bodies are equipped with an idle speed adjusting screw and a fast idle speed adjusting screw. During A/C operation, a Fast Idle Compensating Solenoid (FICD) opens up to by-pass additional air to the intake manifold to maintain engine idle speed. Throttle bodies are also equipped with dashpots to prevent engine stall during deceleration.
