Auxiliary Air Valve

Auxiliary air valve is used to increase airflow when engine is started up at a low temperature. It consists of a coiled bi metallic spring. Bi-metallic spring operates a shutter valve, and an electric heater element.

Airflow is increased as temperature becomes lower. Current to heater is supplied by fuel pump relay circuit. Shutter valve turns gradually to decrease airflow.
