Code 12: Starter Switch
NOTE:
Refer to illustration for ECU connector and terminal identification. See Figure

- Disconnect ECU connectors. While cranking engine, measure voltage between ground and ECU connector F120, terminal No. 17 (Black/White wire). If voltage is more than 8 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 8 volts, repair starter circuit as necessary.
- Turn ignition off. Measure resistance between ground and ECU connector F119, terminal No. 1 (Brown wire). If resistance is less than 10 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is more than 10 ohms, repair wiring harness between ground and ECU.
- Measure resistance between ground and ECU connector F120, terminal No. 10 (Brown wire). If resistance is less than 10 ohms, replace ECU. If resistance is more than 10 ohms, repair wiring harness between ground and ECU.
