Code 62: Electric Load Signal
NOTE:
Refer to illustration for ECU connector and terminal identification. See Figure
.
- Disconnect ECU connectors. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and ECU connector. Refer to the ELECTRIC LOAD SIGNAL VOLTAGE SPECIFICATIONS
table. If voltage is as specified, go to next step. If voltage is not as specified, repair faulty electric load signal circuit, harness connector and/or switches.ELECTRIC LOAD SIGNAL VOLTAGE SPECIFICATIONS
Measure Between Terminals Volts No. 18 (1) & Ground (2) Less Than 2 No. 18 (1) & Ground (3) More Than 8 No. 20 (1) & Ground (4) More Than 8 No. 21 (1) & Ground (5) More Than 8 (1) Measure at ECU connector F120. (2) With rear defogger off. (3) With rear defogger on. (4) With headlights off or on high beam. (5) With headlights off or on low beam. - Turn ignition off. Measure resistance between ground and ECU connector F119, terminal No. 1 (Brown wire). Measure resistance between ground and ECU connector F120, terminal No. 10 (Brown wire). If both resistances are less than 10 ohms, check for poor ECU connector contact. Repair connector and/or wiring harness as necessary. If connector and wiring harness are okay, replace ECU. If either resistance is more than 10 ohms, repair connector and/or wiring harness as necessary.
