Code 38: Engine Torque Control
NOTE:
Refer to illustration for ECU connector and terminal identification. See Figure
.
- Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using a DVOM, check voltage between ECU connector B59, terminal No. 20 (backprobe) and ground. Voltage should be 5 volts or greater. If voltage is not as specified, go to next step. If voltage is as specified, check ECU connector terminals for good contact. Repair as necessary. If connector terminals are okay, replace ECU.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect ECU and transaxle control unit (TCU) connectors. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ECU connector B59, terminal No. 20 and TCU connector terminal No. 16 (Light Green/Yellow wire). Resistance should be zero ohms. If resistance is not as specified, repair circuit as necessary. If resistance is as specified, check TCU connector terminals for good contact. Repair as necessary. If connector terminals are okay, replace TCU.
