DTC P0116 (TW_Low): ECT Sensor Circuit Low Input
- Turn ignition off. Connect SSM. Start engine. Set SSM function mode to F04. If displayed value is more than 300°F (150°C), go to next step. If displayed value is less than 300°F (- 40 and 150°C), repair poor contact in connectors or wiring of ECT sensor connector, ECM connector or coupling connector E21. See appropriate wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
- Turn ignition off. Remove air intake duct. Remove idle air control solenoid valve by-pass air hose (2.2L). Disconnect ECT sensor connector. Turn ignition on. Select function mode F04. If displayed value is less than - 40°F (- 40°C), replace ECT sensor. If displayed value is more than - 40°F (- 40°C), repair short circuit in wiring between ECT sensor connector and ECM connector.
