Throttle Position (TP) Sensor

NOTE: All testing procedures are performed with engine at normal operating temperature. For further TP sensor diagnosis, see TESTS W/CODES article in this section.

Connect scan tool. Turn ignition on. With throttle fully closed, observe TP sensor voltage and throttle opening angle. TP sensor voltage should be 0.45-0.55 volt at 0.0 percent throttle angle. If necessary, loosen retaining screws and rotate TP sensor until correct voltages are obtained. Replace TP sensor if voltage cannot be adjusted to specification.
