Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS)

VSS is a pick-up type output sensor mounted on the transaxle. VSS generates a 4-pulse signal (16-pulse on automatic transaxle) for every rotation of the front differential. On automatic transaxle, VSS signal is sent to transaxle control module where it is converted to a 4-pulse signal and sent on to the PCM and speedometer. On manual transaxle, VSS signal is sent directly to PCM and speedometer.
