Air Bag Module: Removal
- Before proceeding, follow air bag service precautions. See SERVICE PRECAUTIONS . Disable SRS. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Ensure front wheels are in a straight-ahead position.
- For Legacy remove covers from both sides of steering wheel. Remove 4 Torx bolts securing air bag module to steering wheel. Disconnect air bag module and horn connectors. Remove air bag module.
- For Impreza and Forester remove 2 Torx bolts securing air bag module to steering wheel. Disconnect air bag connectors. Remove air bag module.
