Transaxle External Components
- Using Oil Filter Wrench (498545400), install spin-on filter. Place transaxle in Park. Using Stopper Pin (499267300), adjust inhibitor switch so hole of selector lever is aligned with inhibitor switch hole. Tighten bolts to 26-35 INCH lbs. (2.9-3.9 N.m).
- Attach transaxle harness and inhibitor switch cord. Install oil cooler inlet and outlet pipe. Install dipstick tube. Install strut bar bracket. Tighten bracket bolts to 28-32 ft. lbs. (38-44 N.m). Install air breather hoses to transaxle case and oil pump housing. Tighten differential and transaxle drain plugs to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

- Install input shaft while turning lightly. Install oil pump shaft to torque converter. Ensure clip fits securely in groove. Install torque converter assembly to converter case, ensuring not to damage bushing. Rotate shaft lightly by hand to engage splines securely. Ensure torque converter extends past converter housing by .106-.114" (2.70-2.90 mm). See Fig 6
