Gear Shift Lever: Removal

  1. Remove gear shift knob.
  2. Remove front cover, see FRONT COVER - CENTER CONSOLE  .
  3. Remove console boot.
  4. Remove boot plate from body.

  5. Remove rear exhaust pipe and muffler. See REAR EXHAUST PIPE .
    CAUTION: When removing exhaust pipes, make sure no exhaust pipes drop out.

  6. Remove heat shield cover.

  7. Remove stay from transmission bracket.

  8. Remove rod from joint.

  9. Remove cushion rubber from body.

  10. Remove joint and then extract straight pin.
