DTC P0106: Intake Manifold Pressure Sensor Circuit Range/Performance Problem

  1. Perform basic diagnostic procedure. See BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  . Using scan tool, select LED operation mode. If idle switch signal LED comes on, go to next step. If idle switch signal LED does not come on, check throttle position sensor circuit. See DTC P0121: THROTTLE POSITION (TP) SENSOR CIRCUIT RANGE/PERFORMANCE PROBLEM  . Do not diagnose DTC P0106.
  2. If DTC P0106 is only DTC set, go to next step. If DTCs P0107, P0108 or P1112 exist, diagnose and repair those DTCs. Do not diagnose DTC P0106.
  3. Ensure intake manifold pressure sensor bolt is tightened securely. Tighten bolt as necessary. If bolt is tightened securely, go to next step.
  4. Ensure throttle body bolts are tightened securely. Tighten bolts as necessary. If bolts are tightened securely, go to next step.
  5. Check for any foreign objects between EGR solenoid valve and intake manifold. Clear passages and securely install EGR solenoid valve. If there are no foreign objects between EGR solenoid valve and intake manifold, replace intake manifold pressure sensor. Clear memory and perform verification procedure. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  and VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  .
