Fuel Tank: Removal
WARNING:
- Place "NO FIRE" signs near the working area.
- Be careful not to spill fuel on the floor.
- Set vehicle on the lift.
- Release fuel pressure. Refer to RELEASING OF FUEL PRESSURE .
- Drain fuel from fuel tank. Refer to DRAINING OF FUEL .
- Remove rear seat.
- Disconnect connector of fuel tank cord to rear harness.
- Push grommet which holds fuel tank cord on floor panel into under the body.
- Remove rear crossmember. Refer to CROSSMEMBER .
- Move clamp, and disconnect evaporation hose from canister.
- Disconnect connector from pressure control solenoid valve.
- Disconnect connector from drain valve.
- Disconnect hoses from roll over valve.
- Loosen clamp and disconnect fuel filler hose and air vent hose from fuel filler pipe and air vent pipe.
- Move clips, and disconnect quick connector. Refer to Fuel Delivery, Return and Evaporation Lines .
- Disconnect fuel hoses.
- Support fuel tank with transmission jack, remove bolts from bands and dismount fuel tank from the vehicle.WARNING: A helper is required to perform this work.
