MT Gear Shift Lever: Installation

Install the joint to the transmission and secure with the spring pin.
Insert gear shift lever from room side.
NOTE: After inserting rod and stay, temporarily put them onto transmission mount.

Lift-up the vehicle.
Mount cushion rubber on the body.
Tightening torque: 18 N.m (1.8 kgf-m, 13.0 ft-lb)

Connect rod to the joint.
Tightening torque: 18 N.m (1.8 kgf-m, 13.0 ft-lb)

Connect stay to transmission bracket.
Tightening torque: 18 N.m (1.8 kgf-m, 13.0 ft-lb)

Install heat shield cover.

Install rear exhaust pipe and muffler. Refer to INSTALLATION under REAR EXHAUST PIPE and MUFFLER .
Mount boot plate on body.
Tightening torque: 4.5 N.m (0.46 kgf-m, 3.3 ft-lb)

Install front cover and gear shift knob. Refer to INSTALLATION under CONSOLE BOX .
