AT Steering Shift Switch: Inspection

AT STEERING SHIFT SWITCH DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step	Check	Yes	No
1 SHIFT-UP SWITCH CONTINUITY CHECK. Press the shift-up switch. Measure the resistance between the shift switch connector terminals. Terminals No. 4 - No. 3:	Is the resistance less than 10 Ω?	Go to step 2.	Replace the steering shift switch.
2 SHIFT-DOWN SWITCH CONTINUITY CHECK. Press the shift-down switch. Measure the resistance between the shift switch connector terminals. Terminals No. 3 - No. 2:	Is the resistance less than 10 Ω?	Go to step 3.	Replace the steering shift switch.
3 CHECK SHIFT SWITCH INSULATION. Do not operate the shift switch. Measure the resistance between the shift switch connector terminals. Terminals No. 3 - No. 2: No. 3 - No. 4:	Is the resistance 1 Ω	Steering shift switch is normal.	Replace the steering shift switch.
