Fuel Filler Pipe: Removal
WARNING:
Place "NO OPEN FLAMES" signs near the working area.
CAUTION:
Be careful not to spill fuel.
- Set the vehicle on a lift.
- Release the fuel pressure. Refer to RELEASING OF FUEL PRESSURE , PROCEDURE, Fuel.
- Drain fuel. Refer to DRAINING FUEL (WITH SUBARU SELECT MONITOR) , PROCEDURE, Fuel.
- Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
- Open the fuel filler lid, and remove the filler cap.
- Remove the screws which secure gasket.
- Remove the rear wheel RH.
- Lift up the vehicle.
- Remove the mud guard. Refer to REMOVAL , Mud Guard.
- Remove the rear sub frame. Refer to REMOVAL , Rear Sub Frame.
- Remove the bolts which hold fuel filler pipe bracket on the body.
- Loosen the clamp, and disconnect the fuel filler hose (A) and evaporation hose (B).
- Remove the fuel filler pipe to the underside of the vehicle.
