Select Lever: Installation
- Set the select lever to vehicle body.
- Tighten the four bolts to install the select lever to vehicle body, and then connect the connector.
- Temporarily tighten the bolt A.
- Tighten the bolt B.
- Tighten the bolt A.
- Tighten the bolts C and D.
Tightening torque:
18 N.m (1.8 kgf-m, 13.3 ft-lb)
- Install the harness clips to the bracket.
- Shift the select lever to "N" range.
- Install the blind.CAUTION: The blind should be installed so that it is securely caught by tabs of the plate guide COM-PL.
- Install the indicator assembly.
- Install the console side panel and console front panel. < Ref. to INSTALLATION , Center Console. >
- Install the console box. < Ref. to INSTALLATION , Console Box. >
- Install the parking brake lever boot.
- Install the grip.
- Lift up the vehicle.
- Shift the range select lever to "N" range.
- Secure the select cable to the bracket. < Ref. to INSTALLATION , Select Cable. >
- Adjust the select cable position. < Ref. to ADJUSTMENT , Select Cable. >
- After the completion of adjustment, confirm that the select lever operates properly at all range positions.
- Install the heat shield cover. < Ref. to INSTALLATION , Heat Shield Cover. >
- Install the rear exhaust pipe, (non-turbo model) < Ref. to INSTALLATION , Rear Exhaust Pipe. >
- Remove the center exhaust pipe (rear), (turbo model) < Ref. to INSTALLATION , Center Exhaust Pipe. >
- Lower the vehicle.
- Connect the battery ground terminal.
- Inspect the following items. When a malfunction is found in the inspection, adjust the select cable and inhibitor switch. < Ref. to

- Engine starts when the select lever is in "P" and "N" range, but not in other ranges.
- Back-up light illuminates when the select lever is in the "R" range, but not in other ranges.
- Select lever and indicator positions are matched.
