If you receive a Customer concern such as: the dome lights and / or the rear gate ajar warning lamp(s) staying on or the or possibly the Alarm system triggering intermittently, check to see if the vehicle is equipped with a rear cargo mat. If so, the mat may be out of position, keeping the rear gate latching mechanism from operating properly. When removing items from the cargo area, always make sure the mat is returned to its proper position and clear of the rear gate striker.
