Basic Diagnostic Procedure: Procedure

1 CHECK PRE-INSPECTION . Ask the customer when and how the trouble occurred using the interview check list. Refer to , CHECK LIST FOR INTERVIEW . Before performing diagnostics, check the following items which might affect CVT problems. General inspection Refer to , INSPECTION , General Description. Disconnection of harness connector Visual check for harness damage Oil leakage Stall speed test. Refer to STALL TEST . Secondary pressure test. Refer to SECONDARY PRESSURE (LINE PRESSURE) TEST . Transfer clutch pressure test. Refer to TRANSFER CLUTCH PRESSURE TEST . Time lag test. Refer to TIME LAG TEST . Road test. Refer to ROAD TEST . Inhibitor switch. Refer to INHIBITOR SWITCH .	Is the item that is thought to influence the CVT problem working properly?	Go to step 2 .	Repair the items which may be affecting the CVT trouble.
2 CHECK AT OIL TEMP LIGHT. Turn the ignition switch to ON and wait for at least 2 seconds.	Does the AT OIL TEMP light illuminate?	Go to step 3 .	Check the AT OIL TEMP light.
3 CHECK AT OIL TEMP LIGHT. Start the engine and wait for 2 seconds or more.	Does the AT OIL TEMP light blink?	Go to step 4 .	Go to step 6 .
4 CHECK FOR ANY OTHER DTC ON DISPLAY. Read the DTC. NOTE: If the communication function of Subaru Select Monitor cannot be executed normally, check the communication circuit. Refer to , COMMUNICATION FOR INITIALIZING IMPOSSIBLE , Diagnostic Procedure for Subaru Select Monitor Communication.	Is DTC displayed on Subaru Select Monitor?	Record all DTC. Go to step 5 .	Go to step 6 .
5 CHECK FREEZE FRAME DATA. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check the Freeze Frame Data.	Are freeze frame data recorded?	Record the freeze frame data. Go to step 7 .	Go to step 7 .
6 PERFORM GENERAL DIAGNOSTICS. Inspect using "Diagnostic Procedure without Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)". Refer to , DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE WITHOUT DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) . Inspect using "Diagnostics with Phenomenon". Refer to , DIAGNOSTICS WITH PHENOMENON . Perform the Inspection Mode. Refer to , INSPECTION MODE . Read the DTC.	Is DTC displayed on Subaru Select Monitor?	Go to step 7 .	Finish the diagnosis.
7 PERFORM DIAGNOSIS. Inspect by referring to "Diagnostic Procedure with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)". Refer to , DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE WITH DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) . NOTE: For the DTC table, refer to LIST OF DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) . Refer to , LIST OF DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) . Repair the trouble cause. Perform the Clear Memory Mode. Perform the Inspection Mode. Refer to , INSPECTION MODE . Read the DTC.	Is DTC displayed on Subaru Select Monitor?	Inspect by referring to "Diagnostic Procedure with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)". Refer to , DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE WITH DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .	Finish the diagnosis.
