Fuel Filler Pipe: Removal
WARNING:
Place "NO OPEN FLAMES" signs near the working area.
CAUTION:
Be careful not to spill fuel.
- Release the fuel pressure. Refer to RELEASING OF FUEL PRESSURE , PROCEDURE, Fuel.
- Drain fuel. Refer to DRAINING FUEL (WITH SUBARU SELECT MONITOR) , PROCEDURE, Fuel.
- Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
- Open the fuel filler lid, and remove the filler cap.
- Turn the fuel filler pipe protector in the direction of the arrow to unlock and remove it.
- Remove the rear wheel RH.
- Lift up the vehicle.
- Remove the rear mud guard RH. Refer to MUD GUARD .
- Remove the rear sub frame. Refer to REAR SUB FRAME .
- Disconnect the fuel filler hose (A) and circulate hose (B) from the fuel filler pipe assembly.
- Disconnect the evaporation hose (A) from fuel filler pipe assembly and remove the bolts and nuts securing the fuel filler pipe assembly to the vehicle body.
- Remove the fuel filler pipe assembly from the underside of the vehicle.
