Fuel Filler Pipe: Removal
WARNING:
Place "NO OPEN FLAMES" signs near the working area.
CAUTION:
Be careful not to spill fuel.
- Release the fuel pressure. < Refer to RELEASING OF FUEL PRESSURE , PROCEDURE, Fuel. >
- Drain fuel. < Refer to DRAINING FUEL (WITH SUBARU SELECT MONITOR) , PROCEDURE, Fuel. >
- Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
- Open the fuel filler lid and remove the fuel filler cap.
- Remove the screws which secure the fuel filler ring, and then remove the fuel filler ring.
- Remove the rear wheel RH.
- Lift up the vehicle.
- Remove the rear mud guard RH. < Refer to REAR MUD GUARD , REMOVAL, Mud Guard. >
- Remove the rear sub frame. < Refer to REMOVAL , Rear Sub Frame. >
- Remove the bolts and nuts which secure fuel filler pipe assembly onto the vehicle body.
- Disconnect the fuel filler hose and air vent hose from the fuel filler pipe assembly.
- Remove the fuel filler pipe assembly from the underside of the vehicle.
