Intake Manifold: Installation

Install the engine harness to fuel injector pipe LH.

Install the engine harness to fuel injector pipe RH.

Install the intake manifold onto cylinder heads.
NOTE: Use new O-rings.

Tightening torque:

25 N.m (2.5 kgf-m, 18.4 ft-lb)
- RH side

Install the EGR pipe securing bolt.
NOTE: Use a new gasket.

Tightening torque:

6.4 N.m (0.7 kgf-m, 4.7 ft-lb)

Install the bolts which hold fuel injector pipe RH to cylinder head.
NOTE: Use new O-rings, injection rubbers, and seal rings.

Tightening torque:

19 N.m (1.9 kgf-m, 14.0 ft-lb)

Connect #1, #3, and #5 fuel injector connectors.
Install the fuel pipe protector RH.
Tightening torque:

19 N.m (1.9 kgf-m, 14.0 ft-lb)

Install the feed hose to fuel pipe protector RH.
Tightening torque:

13 N.m (1.3 kgf-m, 9.6 ft-lb)

Connect the connectors of the intake oil flow control solenoid valve RH.

Install the bolts which hold fuel injector pipe LH to cylinder head.
NOTE: Use new O-rings, injection rubbers, and seal rings.

Tightening torque:

19 N.m (1.9 kgf-m, 14.0 ft-lb)

Connect the connectors of the oil temperature sensor, engine coolant temperature sensor and intake oil flow control solenoid valve LH.

Connect #2, #4, and #6 fuel injector connectors. (B)
Install the fuel pipe protector LH.
Tightening torque:

19 N.m (1.9 kgf-m, 14.0 ft-lb)

Connect the fuel delivery hose (A) and evaporation hose (B).
NOTE: If fuel hoses or clamps are damaged, replace them with new parts.

Install the throttle body to the intake manifold.
NOTE: Use new O-rings.

Tightening torque:

8 N.m (0.8 kgf-m, 5.9 ft-lb)

Connect the engine harness connector.

Connect the connector to the throttle body.

Connect the PCV hose.

Connect the following connectors.
1. Install the securing clips to the two locations on the fuel pipe protector LH.

2. Generator connector
3. Generator terminal B
  Tightening torque:
  
  16 N.m (1.6 kgf-m, 11.8 ft-lb)
4. Install the harness cover to the collector cover bracket.
5. Magnet clutch connector

Install the air intake chamber.
Tightening torque:

Clamp (A)

3 N.m (0.3 kgf-m, 2.2 ft-lb)

Bolt (B)

6.5 N.m (0.7 kgf-m, 4.8 ft-lb)

Install the air cleaner case and intake boot. < Ref. to INSTALLATION , Air Cleaner Case. >
Connect the brake booster vacuum hose to the intake manifold.

Install the battery and battery carrier. < Ref. to INSTALLATION , Battery. >
Install the collector cover.
