Inspection steps

  1. MIL illumination check
    1. Check the illumination status of MIL.

      Result

      MIL Inspection conditions Go to
      Always lit. IG ON →After engine start A
      Always unlit. IG ON →After engine start B
      ON →OFF IG ON →After engine start C

      B: Go to Step  3.

      C: Inspection for problems that do not normally occur (refer to PROCEDURES FOR MALFUNCTION PHENOMENON SIMULATION )

      A: Go to next step

  2. Read DTC
    1. Connect the SSM3 to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Follow the SSM3 on-screen instructions to check the DTC. (Refer to CHECKING/CLEARING DTC )

      Result

      Result Go to
      No DTC is output A
      DTC is output. B

      B: To corresponding DTC chart (refer to DTC TABLE )

      A: Go to meter & gauge system (refer to HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT )

  3. Engine starting inspection
    1. Check that the engine starts.

      Criteria: The engine starts.

      NG: Go to VC POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT INSPECTION  (Refer to )

      OK: Replace combination meter assembly (refer to COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY )
